06/3       Very bad news....... For the last 11 years thousands of people have met and come to know our little dog Speck at our field, camping and anywhere we went.  Many players knew her by name and she knew them too.  She would greet people as they came out visit and always had a wag in her tail.  She was often spotted sneaking a nap in players gearbags or panhandling pizza from a birthday party.  She lost her life the night of Wednesday June 1st and has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.  We will all miss her very much. She was a small dog with a huge personality and an even bigger heart.  Speck now lives in our memories and will never be forgotten. Here are her first and last pictures.

11/28    Thanks to everyone that made for a great day yesterday.  It started off slow but then car loads began showing up around 12:30  Today was also a pretty good day,  We had some players from Christ School, a few of our regular players and Ashton Hill cam out with 11 of his friends to celebrate his birthday.

11/26    If you Didn't make it out Wednesday you missed a great day,  We had to keep reminding ourselves it wasn't Saturday.  Several players came out and played and the weather was great.  We even had a dozen players on Friday despite the less than perfect Weather.  Don't forget about the Free Day tomorrow,  it will be a great opportunity to bring out those friends that haven't caught the paintball bug yet and save some money too.

11/22    Yet another great weekend totaling over 60 players including East Side Church from Nebo and another visit from Stone Mt. School, this would make 3 weeks in a row.  We are now in the CFOA off season so its time to start building for 2011  If you are looking to play on one of our teams start watching for our practice days (banner runs on top of the main page) and come out.  Don't forget this Saturday is our fall open house.  Purchase a minimum of 500 rounds and we'll take care of the field fee (save $10)   We are also participating in the BT Black Friday Promo,  Purchase any BT marker Friday, Saturday or Sunday and get a free Halo Too loader.  We normally sell these loaders for 59.95 and we discount all BT guns too, so if your looking for a gun for yourself of as a gift this deal is hard to pass up.

11/6    We thought that we would have a light turnout today, but boy were we wrong.   Several groups including a crew from Western Carolina University and Stone Mt. Academy disregarded the chili temps and and pushed our player numbers to nearly 50.  Sunday will be the last practice before next weeks CFOA,  X BALL event,  hopefully it will be a few degrees warmer.  In other news,  Xcelerate Chuch has made Wolverine their new home field and will bringing out a group every second Sunday of the month (next week 11-14) so for those of you that call and ask if we have any groups coming out, here is your answer "YES"  We also have had a few calls about veterans day 11-11 but we have rather large church group using the field so we will be closed to the public.

10/30   This fall has super busy with many groups coming out as well as surge in new players and many players that have not come out since our move last fall.  As usual we keep making improvements to our fields, with more bunkers added to the woods fields every week and new nets going up all around.  In just a few weeks our speedball field will be moved to its new location to allow for construction of our new tactical field. Our team practice days are also growing in numbers as more players are looking for a higher level of play ( next Practice is Nov 7th at 10AM).    Mark your calendars for November 27th,  We will be holding our annual "open house" fall free day that Saturday.  All players can play with NO FIELD FEE!   Wolverine also hits prime time TV.  Wellspring academy came out with 35 players today to shoot an episode of their reality show (on the Style network) to be aired later this year.  Thanks to the producers and crew for choosing Wolverine, it was fun being part of the creative process.  A big thanks to Jesse from Wellspring for managing the teams and refilling the players hoppers.  We will post the air date when we have it.  Our new 50cal birthday party package has also been growing in popularity.  This has allowed younger Players the get in the game and experience the thrill of paintball and not be worried about the intensity of the standard .68 play.

8/23    Lots to catch up on,  First thanks to all of our summer camp partners for helping us stay so busy for the summer months,  And our Friday (TGIF) special was huge success.  Also congratulations to Chris Kent for representing our field at LOF Paintball and winning the Pump Top Gun tourney last week.  Also thanks to heartland Publishing for coming out Saturday and using our field again this year during their annual company get together,  Its really great to see Two buses pull into the parking lot.  Also thanks to the weather for holding off for them to play.  Today we had a visit from Converse College Women's Soccer team.  Also we are seeing allot of players come out for our team practice days.  Our next open practice will be Aug 29th At 10am.  If you want to get some real competition on the field this were you want to be.  We also will be bringing back our Wolverine 3man open tournament this fall, so players can benefit from coming out for these practice sessions.  We also have been busy on field upgrades too,  The woods field just keeps getting better,  We hear "that wasn't here the last time I was here"  Quite often.   Hope to see you here soon!

DIE NASTY WINS 3 MAN

6/5   SAY YAY! to DIE NASTY for winning our D-6 three man today.  It came as a big surprise since one player had to rent a model 98 to play.  So back to the drawing board for some teams.  Second place was Shock Effect, third was Kontagous and 4th went to G kids. The games all went very well, and everyone played like gentlemen.  Also thanks to members of shokwave (Chad, Jacob, keaton and Charly) for reffling.

CONGRATULATIONS SHOKWAVE

5/23    Yet another crazy busy weekend!  It all started Thursday with a group from Chili's battling it out all afternoon,  then way more players Saturday and Sunday than we expected, Including Fletcher First Baptist Church plus birthdays on both days.  While at the same time Shokwave played in the five man CFOA event in Rock Hill SC, and won it too.  The amazing  thing was they played so well that they only used a total of two cases of paint to make it through the 8 game prelims.  All total they used a little over 5 cases of paint all day.  Now that's  "shootin & movin"  Wolverine style!  We already have teams signing up for the next CFOA3 on June 5th.  This will be your last chance to play in the series till the fall games.  The entry fee is only 75 bucks, includes air and you can roster up to five players.  So its cheaper to to play in the 3 man event than to play at regular field walk on rates.

5/8    We didn't get enough teams signed up for this months three man so well just have to try again for the June 5th event.  Tomorrow is mothers day, but well be here for team practice at 10 and then we'll see what happens after that.  we already have a few group reservations for next weekend.  Also our summer hours will start in June, check our calendar page in the next few weeks for the updated info.

4/18    We finally managed to get our CFOA 3 MAN games off the ground, it was great to see local team competing on our fields again.  Shock Effect took first place.  Thanks to all teams for making this possible.  Plus we had one of the busiest Saturdays we've seen in a long time.  Warren Wilson college and Camps Creek Baptist Church came out for the day and played along with several regulars as well as a couple of Birthday parties.  With all that happening it was a 15 hour day for some of us.  Saturdays players were the first to see the first week of 'thinning' of the woods fields.  We will be making some big changes the woods fields by removing most of the underbrush and building new strategic bases to make the wood play even better.

 BH-CFOAXB2-Sat-448

4/11    We sure had busy weekend.  While Shawn and Barron ran the field, our home team "Shockwave" hit the CFOA (D-3) X-BALL tourney at Carolina paintball in China Grove NC.  The highlight of the day was in the quarter finals when Shokwave sent home the top seeded "Annihilators" from Fla. coached by Mike Paxson.  There were allot of OMG's and dropped jaws when that one was over.  They then battled it out against last years top team Cash Money Killers who finished third. So after two days and twenty six cases of paint we finished a respectable fourth place.  Since this is only the second event for these guys in the X-BALL format, we think they will be a force in the X-BALL series just like they are in five man.

4/7   Looks like we're gunna have great weather this Saturday and Sunday so come out and put some balls in the air before the temps get warmer.  We were going to be closed Sunday but we've had some calls from players wanting to come out,  So we are now opening Sunday 1 to 6

4/6    Just a reminder,  our X-Ball team (SHOKWAVE) will be heading off to China Grove this coming weekend.  So we will be closed this Sunday April 11.  Wish us luck.   This is also the last week to get in on the free case of paint deal for our 3man on 4/17.  We have Three teams signed up and a few other local startup teams have shown interest.  All teams registered and paid by Sunday the 11th will get a free case of rps Premium for the tournament.  This should help any team that is concerned about cost.  Final registration must be done by April 15 on the APPA website.  Any team that would like to pay your entry at the field needs to contact us directly.

4/2     YES! We will be open Easter Sunday.  If the phone calls are any indication, we should be busy.  We will be open spring break week Tuesday thru Friday 10 to 6 then back to our regular schedule of 10 to 6 on Saturday.

3/28    We had great day Saturday with a few small groups and a big birthday party group.  Even with the rain we had a great practice on Sunday.  Congratulations to Jacob Bochicchio who plays on our X-Ball team "Shokwave" for winning the top gun tourney at LOF Saturday.

3/26    Just a quick note.  The field will be open next week on Good Friday from 10 to 6,  then Saturday 10 to 6 and Easter Sunday after services 1 to 6.  All three days will have discounted field fees of just 5 bucks,  so you can come and play with your family and save a few dollars.

3/26    Shokwave player #13, Wolverine staff member and future owner Michael Benedict gave us a bit of a scare this week.  He was having back pain and a X ray showed a crack on one of the vertebrae of his lower back which was confirmed by a MRI on Wed.  The doctors say it is not going to cause any nerve damage but will flair up once in a wile after intense physical activity ( like diving into the snake ) He starts therapy next week and hopefully he'll be ready to run and gun at the next CFOA X-BALL April 10.  There will be a team practice this Sunday at 10AM,  so if you want to mix it up with the boys from SHOCKWAVE bring your gear and your APPA number.  APPA card holders will get $5 off your field fee.

3/25   We have lots of interest now that the snow has gone and it looks like were finally going to have enough teams for our D-6 CFOA  3-MAN tourney on April 17.  We've sweetened the deal buy offering any team that registers and pays there entry by April 10 a free case of RPS Premium paintballs
